Appeal for witnesses, fatal traffic crash, Morayfield

Police investigating a fatal, two vehicle crash which occurred on Sunday May 15 in Morayfield are appealing for witnesses.

The crash occurred at approximately 8.10pm at the intersection of Morayfield Road and Devereaux Drive, when a car and a motorcycle collided.

The male motorcycle rider and the male driver and sole occupant of the car, were transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with life-threatening-injuries.

The motorbike rider died as a result of his injuries on Saturday, May 21.

Forensic Crash Unit is asking for any potential witnesses to the crash to come forward.

In particular, police would like to speak to anyone who may have travelled southbound between 8.10pm and 8.15pm on Morayfield Road or saw the motorcycle travelling southbound.

Additionally, anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV footage of the area at the nominated time is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.

Morayfield - Caloundra - EungellaPolice investigating an armed robbery that occurred overnight in Caloundra have released images of a man that may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Initial investigations suggest that at 8pm, a man entered a bottle shop on Bulcock Street armed with a golf club.

He approached the female attendant and made demands for cash, and when the woman complied, he fled the store with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

Responding police have conducted numerous patrols, but the man remains outstanding.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, around 180cms tall with a proportionate build.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hooded jumper, tanned coloured shorts, and black skater shoes.

Serious traffic crash

Police are appealing for public assistance following a serious single vehicle traffic crash in Eungella early this morning.

Initial investigations suggest at around 5:30am a four-wheel drive was travelling east along Mackay – Eungella Road when it left the roadway and rolled down a steep embankment.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle managed to exit the vehicle and was located by a member of the public at around 6:30am.

A 27-year-old man from Finch Hatton was transported to Mackay Base Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
