Police investigate fatal pedestrian crash at Beacon Hill

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after a fatal pedestrian crash at Beacon Hill yesterday.

About 9.00am (Friday 27 May 2016), an 89-year-old woman reversed her Toyota Corolla out of her driveway on Lee Road, Beacon Hill.

Police have been told the vehicle struck a 96-year-old man who walking along the road.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

The woman was taken to Manly Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Sadly, the man died overnight.

Officers attached to Northern Beaches Local Area Command have commenced an investigation and will prepare a report for the Coroner outlining the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police via Crime Stoppers.

Fatal crash in Inglewood

A person has died following a single vehicle crash at Inglewood tonight.

The incident happened on Inglewood-Rheola Road, near School Forest Road, at 8.50pm.

Police believe the car was travelling west when it left the roadway, crashing into a tree.

The driver, who was the single occupant of the car, died at the scene.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
