Renewed search for Raymond Speechley missing on Far South Coast

Police and volunteers are again searching forest on the Far South Coast today, for a man who went missing a month ago.

Mr Raymond Speechley, 77, was last seen about 4pm on Thursday 7 July 2016, at a retirement home on Ruth Place, Dalmeny, about 10km north of Narooma.

Despite extensive searches and appeals via the media, Mr Speechley has not been seen since.

Officers from the Far South Coast Local Area Command conducted an extensive search of the area with assistance from the Volunteer Rescue Association, State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Service and Westpac Lifesaver helicopter.

More than 90 people are on the ground today (Saturday 6 August 2016), from the same organisations as before, as well as trail bike and horse riders.

They are focusing on an area of forest near Dalmeny; this area has been searched previously. Police have also organised another doorknock of the local residential areas in an effort to gather any information about Mr Speechley’s whereabouts.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, with a medium build, grey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and a dark jacket with a pyjama top underneath.

An earlier appeal about a small car seen in the area at the time has failed to produce any further information.

Police searching for a man, Raymond Speechley, missing from his Far South Coast home, are investigating if he got a lift with a passing motorist.

Raymond Speechley, aged 77, was last seen about 4pm on Thursday (7 July 2016), at a retirement home on Ruth Place, Dalmeny.

Police were alerted after he left the home and couldn’t be located or contacted.

Officers from the Far South Coast Local Area Command launched an extensive search of the area with assistance from the Volunteer Rescue Association, State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Service and Westpac Lifesaver helicopter.

Serious concerns are held for Mr Speechley’s welfare due to a medical condition and the inclement weather in the area.

Raymond Speechley is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of medium build with grey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and a dark jacket with a pyjama top underneath.

Police have been told a man similar in description to Raymond Speechley was seen on the Princes Highway, Dalmeny, shortly after 4pm on Thursday (7 July 2016). A red vehicle was stopped nearby. Inquiries also revealed that Mr Speechley may have attempted to travel to the Wollongong area.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling north on the Princes Highway through Dalmeny at that time that may have picked up a man fitting the description of Raymond Speechley, to contact Police.

Police are also seeking anyone who may have seen a man fitting Mr Speechley’s description, on the Princes Highway at Dalmeny to contact Batemans Bay Police Station on (02) 4472 0099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 47-year-old Karen Ristevski.

Karen was last seen at her home address on Oakley Drive, Avondale Heights about 10am on Wednesday 29 June.

Police have concerns for her welfare as her disappearance is out of character.

She is described as 160cm tall, slim build, shoulder length brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a black jacket and jeans and is known to frequent Taylors Lakes

Investigators have released an image of Karen in the hope that someone may have information on her current whereabouts.
