The Queensland Police Service has located the 5-year-old girl who was reported missing from Nerang around 4.30pm yesterday.

The little girl was located safe and well on Spall Street by a member of the public who was tasked to search the area. The girl was found at the end of the street in tall grass.

Police would like to thank the SES, media, local businesses and the hundreds of people who volunteered their services to assist with the search.

Police are searching for a girl who has gone missing in Nerang yesterday afternoon. The 5-year-old girl was with family members before she ran off.

The Queensland Police Service continues to seek urgent public assistance to help locate her.

The girl was last seen at 4.30pm yesterday at Nielsens Road, Nerang, near the motorway overpass.

An exclusion zone has been declared under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) to assist police and SES personnel search for the missing girl.

The exclusion zone was declared at 12:50 and is bounded by Gilston Road, Hinde Road, Latimers Crossing Road, Nerang-Murwillumbah Road, Beaudesert-Nerang Road, Ferry Connection Road, Nerang-Broadbeach Road, Gooding Drive, Mudgeeraba Road, Worongary-Advancetown-Mudgeeraba Road.

Approximately 160 Police and State Emergency Service personnel are involved in the search including members of Gold Coast Rapid Action Patrol (RAP), plain clothes officers and Pol-Air.

The primary search area is the western side of the M1 at Nerang but Police encourage people in the surrounding areas to remain vigilant.

Police hold concerns for the welfare of the child due to her age and that she suffers from a medical condition.

The girl is Caucasian in appearance with blonde shoulder length hair, blue eyes and is approximately 115cm tall.

She was last seen wearing a dark pink t-shirt with a lady bird emblem on the front, dark blue denim shorts and no foot wear.

Police urge residents in the Nerang area to check their yards for the girl.

Missing man Aaron Vandermeer, Boondall

MISSING GIRL, Nerang + Peter Gibbs, Destiney Van Rye, Aaron VandermeerPolice are appealing for public assistance to help locate a 28-year-old man, Aaron Vandermeer, missing from Boondall since Sunday.

Aaron Vandermeer (pictured) was last seen at a Boondall residence on Eton Avenue at around 10.00pm on July 17. His family and friends are concerned for his welfare as his disappearance is out of character.

Aaron Vandermeer is described as Caucasian, approximately 185cm tall with a large build, fair complexion, blue eyes, short ginger hair and a beard.

If anyone has seen Aaron Vandermeer or knows of his current whereabouts they are asked to contact police.

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing girl Destiney Van Rye.

12-year-old Destiney Van Rye was last seen when she was dropped off at school in Noble Park about 8am yesterday.

Police and family have concerns for her welfare due to her age.

Investigators have released an image of Destiney Van Rye in the hope that someone may know her whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Destiney Van Rye is urged to contact Springvale Police Station on 8558 8600.

Police search for missing man Peter Gibbs

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing New South Wales man Peter Gibbs.

50-year-old Peter Gibbs was last seen leaving a hotel in Russell Street, Melbourne about 3.55pm yesterday.

Police have concerns for his welfare as his disappearance is out of character.

Peter Gibbs was last seen wearing a grey zip-up jacket, black pants with a white stripe and black and white shoes.

It’s believed he may be driving his silver 2008 Hyundai Getz sedan with Australian Capital Territory Plates YDH91U.

Investigators have released an image of Peter Gibbs in the hope someone knows his whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Peter is urged to call Melbourne East Police Station on 9637 1100.
