Missing Maxime Gagnon, Cairns
Police continue to seek public assistance to help locate missing Canadian tourist Maxime Gagnon, missing since May.
Maxime Gagnon, 29 was last seen at a backpacker’s hostel on the Cairns Esplanade in the last week of May this year.
Enquiries to date have failed to locate Maxime Gagnon and police hold concerns for his safety.
“We initially believed Mr Gagnon was in the Cairns area and possibly heading south, however we have had no sightings or information relating to his whereabouts.
“Given his intention to look for temporary accommodation in backpacker’s hostels and work locally, we are urging anyone in the backpacking community to keep an eye out and help us with any information,” Detective Senior Sergeant Damien Powell of the Missing Persons Unit said.
Maxime Gagnon is described as 180cm tall, Caucasian in appearance, proportionate build with blue eyes and brown hair.
Anyone who has seen Maxime Gagnon is urged to contact Policelink on 131 444.

Welfare Concerns – Steven Allison
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 43 year old Steven Allison who left his Clarkson home on Tuesday 30 August 2016 in his black Nissan X-trail.
The vehicle was located today (2 September) east of Kalbarri but Steven Allison was not located.
He is described as being fair skinned, with a medium build and greying hair. When Steven Allison was last sighted he was wearing a white t-shirt, a dark coloured jumper, denim jeans and dark coloured shoes.
Steven Allison has not contacted any of his family or friends and police have concerns for his welfare. Anyone who sees him, or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call police immediately on 131 444.
Missing Karl Melo-Richards – Maroubra
Police are appealing for information following the disappearance of Karl Melo-Richards from Maroubra.
Karl Melo-Richards, aged 25, was last seen about 1.30pm yesterday (Friday 2 September 2016), after leaving his home on Broome Street.
When he did not return as planned, Karl Melo-Richards was reported missing.
Karl Melo-Richards is described as being Caucasian appearance, 175 – 180cm tall, with a medium build. He is further described as having short brown hair and brown eyes. When he was last seen he was wearing grey and black shirt, dark blue jeans and closed-in shoes.
Police hold concerns for his welfare and are appealing for information.
